Electric two-wheelers in 2026: the year small EVs went global
Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea in Paris, VinFast’s dealer blitz in India, Ampere’s LFP scooter — the electric two-wheeler went from local curiosity to global strategy.
Flying Flea C6 lands in Europe and the UK
Royal Enfield’s electric-mobility brand launched its first motorcycle in Paris on September 16: the Flying Flea C6 at €5,990 in Europe and £5,300 in the UK, with deliveries across Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Berlin and London scheduled from October 2026. Certified WMTC range: 104 km.
VinFast builds the Indian dealer network first
VinFast India signed letters of intent with more than 50 electric-motorcycle dealer partners on October 8 — showrooms across 34 cities in 15 states and territories, from Delhi NCR to Karnataka — building distribution ahead of its electric-motorcycle launch in the world’s largest two-wheeler market.
Ampere’s LFP scooter play
Ampere, the electric-mobility arm of Greaves Electric Mobility, launched the Nexus EX+ electric scooter on October 5 at ₹1.30 lakh, with an Intellipack variant at ₹1.36 lakh. The scooter uses LFP battery chemistry and a 5 kW motor — the affordable end of the market converging on the same chemistry as the world’s cheapest electric cars.
